Description: HWL Requisition:Samaritan Medical Center-AN-0644 DECEMBER 1ST START DATErnrnMS/Tele FLOAT RNrn60 Mile Radius Rulern36 hoursrn12hr shifts – weekend, holiday and call requiredrn7p-7arn13 weeksrnFLOAT: MS 4 Pav, MS 5 Pratt and the acute inpatient rehab (ortho/neuro)rnBLS, ACLS REQUIREDrnRATIO: 1:5-6rnMeditech experience requiredrnTraveler must hold CURRENT NY license.rnTraveler should have completed at least 1 successful traveler assignment.rnFirst time travelers will NOT be considered.rnGraduate from an accredited School of Nursing.rnCommon patient diagnosis: Septic, COPD, CHF, post op, general med surg, post-op plastics, ALC (waiting to go to nursing home)rnRequired drips and medications: Heparin drips, mag and k ridersrnPossesses a thorough knowledge of nursing principles. Ability to provide quality patient care, and ability to assess patient’s needs, e.g. clinical, teaching, mental and spiritual.rnMust recognize safety issues to self and others and be able to assess and implement use of lifts to and move patients in a safe manner.rnMust be able to function well in stressful situations and have good, creative, problem-solving skills.rnStrong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate.rnMay be required to assume duties as a charge nurse.rnExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required.
