Position Overview

This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care and may include responsibilities as a backup Charge Nurse. The nurse will be integral in patient and family education and will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure high standards of nursing practice are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients in both Med Surge and Acute Rehab settings.
• Participate in patient and family teaching, enhancing their understanding of care plans.
• Provide leadership by collaborating with nursing and team personnel to uphold nursing standards.
• Assist in the supervision of nursing staff and operations.

Work Environment

This position is located in a small community environment in Vermont. The community lacks public transportation; therefore, candidates must have their own vehicle to commute to and from the facility.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med Surg/Rehab experience is required.
• Charge RN experience is mandatory.
• At least 3 months of previous travel nursing experience is necessary.
• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Candidates must possess a valid Vermont state nursing license.
• Current certifications in ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) are required.

Scheduling and Availability

Work hours are from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application and verified.

Additional Information

The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4/5, with an average daily patient census of approximately 22. There is an 8-hour orientation that is non-billable.
