Position Overview

This position involves delegating responsibilities to Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides. The activities are patient-centered and require the application of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in line with physical therapy standards, physician orders, and relevant policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Evaluation: Assess the patient’s functional status through formal and informal testing measures to evaluate skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular health.
• Treatment Planning: Develop a specific treatment regimen based on assessment data and the patient’s ability to adhere to the prescribed treatment plan.
• Plan Documentation: Submit a written treatment regimen to be included in the treatment plan authorized by and coordinated with the physician. Update the plan of care as required to reflect any changes in patient status and provide co-signatures for verbal orders as needed.
• Scheduling: Create a patient treatment schedule that specifies frequency and duration, and discuss this plan with the patient, family, or caregivers while coordinating with clinical support staff.
• Patient Education: Inform patients, families, and/or caregivers about their condition, potential treatment options, prognosis, and the rationale behind selected treatment methods, including rest, exercise, modalities, and other appropriate interventions.

Required Qualifications

• Pediatric Experience – Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from AHA – Required
• Acute Care Experience – Highly Preferred

Work Environment

Location: Michigan

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, with one weekend per month required.

Contract Duration

This position is contracted for 91 days.
