Position: Special Care Nursery Mother Baby RN

Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM

Hours Per Week: 36

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in assessing patient needs and assisting physicians with patient care in the Special Care Nursery. This position focuses on planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care tailored to individual patient requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient needs and collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver optimal care.
• Plan and implement individualized nursing care based on comprehensive patient assessments.
• Document patient care in accordance with established standards and practice guidelines.
• Advocate for evidence-based care standards, promoting innovations in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centric care that aligns with the professional nursing practice model.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to adjust care plans as needed.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage care for assigned patients.
• Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the unit supervisor.

Schedule Details

• Weekend Requirement: Every Third Weekend
• Holiday Requirement: N/A
• On-Call Requirement: 1 per contract
• Float Requirement: Mother Baby

Experience Requirements

• Required: Minimum of 3 years of Mother-Baby experience.
• Preferred: 5 years of related experience.

Education Requirements

• Required: ASN degree in Nursing.
• Preferred: BSN degree in Nursing.

Licenses & Certifications

• Required:
  • BLS certification (must be AHA certified)
  • NRP certification
  • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
• Preferred: None
