Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby units is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with comprehensive patient care. This includes planning, implementing, and documenting nursing interventions tailored to individual patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and set priorities for care through comprehensive evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate a personalized plan of care based on initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiate assessments according to patient problems, physician diagnoses, and overall health frameworks.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage overall patient care.
• Document patient care in alignment with established standards and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based nursing practices and support the adoption of innovative care delivery methods.
• Provide patient-centric care consistent with the professional nursing practice model.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Schedule Notes

• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• Holiday Requirement: N/A
• On-Call Requirement: 1 per contract
• Float Requirement: Mother-Baby unit

Qualifications

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related specialty.

Preferred Experience:

• 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby care.

  • BSN
  • NRP
  • RELIAS
  • ACLS
  • Mother-Baby care experience
• Required Soft Skills: NCC certification
• Required Licenses & Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse License (NJ State or multi-state compact)
  • BLS-AHA
  • NRP
• Preferred Certifications:
  • ACLS
  • Advanced AWHONN or EFM

Education
