Position Overview
Join our team in a crucial role where you will administer radiation treatments to patients diagnosed with cancer, following the specific plans outlined by a radiation oncologist. Your expertise will be essential in operating and maintaining radiation therapy machines, ensuring accurate patient positioning, monitoring for any adverse reactions, and maintaining comprehensive treatment records.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer radiation treatments as per the oncologist’s instructions.
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment.
- Ensure proper patient positioning during treatments.
- Monitor patients for potential adverse reactions throughout the treatment process.
- Maintain detailed and accurate treatment records.
- Provide patient education and support, facilitating communication while patients are in the treatment room.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the field.
- ARRT (T) certification is required.
- Current licensure in the state of Michigan for nursing positions, verified through LARA and Nursys.
- Completion of a skills checklist within one year of application for RN specialties is required.
- Preferred: Skills checklist for other professions outside of nursing.
Work Schedule
This position operates on a standard schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no on-call or weekend shifts required.
Contract Details
This is a contract position with guaranteed hours over a duration of 91 days.
