Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a 12-hour night shift position. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care, participate in patient and family education, and demonstrate leadership within a cooperative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate total nursing care for patients in a medical-surgical setting.
- Participate actively in patient and family teaching initiatives.
- Provide leadership while working collaboratively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain high professional standards.
- May be assigned backup Charge Nurse duties as needed.
- Ensure compliance with patient care standards as outlined by the facility.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Medical Surgical Rehabilitation nursing.
- Prior Charge Nurse experience is required.
- Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months is essential.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Must be willing to float between Acute Rehabilitation and Medical Surgical units as necessary.
- ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA) are required.
- Active Vermont state nursing license is required.
Additional Information
Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position. Candidates must possess their own vehicle as the community lacks public transport. Orientation is 8 hours of non-billable time. Every other weekend and holiday availability is required as needed.
Patient Care Environment
The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 nurse to 4 or 5 patients with an average daily patient census of 22.
