Position Summary
The position involves assisting the surgeon during operative procedures while ensuring a safe and aseptic environment in the operating room. The Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in maintaining the sterile environment and working collaboratively with the surgical team to promote patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during various surgical procedures.
- Maintain a safe and aseptic environment in the operating room.
- Demonstrate teamwork by collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure adherence to sterile practices and safety protocols at all times.
- Participate in maintaining surgical equipment and instruments.
Shift Details
Shift Time: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
On-Call Requirements: 15 call shifts per month, including two full weekends of call each month.
Required Experience
- Completion of a Surgical Technology program or equivalent training.
- Minimum of five consecutive years of experience as a surgical technologist, or one year of surgical tech experience as an LPN is preferred.
- CVOR experience is required.
Certifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification preferred.
