Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby units is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with comprehensive patient care. This includes planning, implementing, and documenting nursing interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and set priorities for care through comprehensive evaluation.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate a personalized plan of care based on initial and ongoing assessments.
- Initiate assessments according to patient problems, physician diagnoses, and overall health frameworks.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage overall patient care.
- Document patient care in alignment with established standards and clinical priorities.
- Advocate for evidence-based nursing practices and support the adoption of innovative care delivery methods.
- Provide patient-centric care consistent with the professional nursing practice model.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Schedule Notes
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Holiday Requirement: N/A
- On-Call Requirement: 1 per contract
- Float Requirement: Mother-Baby unit
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related specialty.
Preferred Experience:
- 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby care.
Skills and Certifications
- Required Hard Skills:
- BSN
- NRP
- RELIAS
- ACLS
- Mother-Baby care experience
- Required Soft Skills: NCC certification
- Required Licenses & Certifications:
- Registered Nurse License (NJ State or multi-state compact)
- BLS-AHA
- NRP
- Preferred Certifications:
- ACLS
- Advanced AWHONN or EFM
Education
- Required Education: ASN
- Preferred Education: BSN
