Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced registered nurse to join our team. The role involves the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques and facility policies.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments and examinations.
- Observe residents, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors, physicians, and families of residents’ conditions and reactions to medications or treatments.
- Take vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure to assess residents’ conditions.
- Assign duties and coordinate nursing services on the resident unit to meet residents’ needs in compliance with physician instructions, federal and state regulations, and facility procedures.
- Consult with the Shift Supervisor on nursing problems and the interpretation of facility policies.
- Report all complaints or unusual issues to the supervisor and assist in completing facility complaint reports.
- Participate in the orientation, training, and evaluation of nursing personnel.
- Evaluate nursing activities to ensure high-quality resident care and efficient service delivery.
- Monitor nursing care and visit residents to ensure adherence to treatment plans.
- Take responsibility for maintaining records of unit narcotics.
- Inspect resident rooms and the nursing unit for cleanliness and comfort.
- Document admissions, discharges, transfers, and incident reports in accordance with facility policies.
- Participate in the development of care plans, completing nursing assessments and resident care plans accurately and promptly.
- Complete special projects and audits as directed by supervision.
- Maintain educational requirements for the State of Michigan, ensuring active license status.
- Attend facility in-services and ward conferences as assigned.
- Maintain resident confidentiality and treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect, ensuring compliance with Resident’s Rights rules.
- Promptly report all resident accidents and injuries to charge nurses.

Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing facility, or medical-surgical setting required.
- Completion of at least one successful travel assignment as a registered nurse.
- Active Michigan RN license required.
- BLS certification (AHA) required.
