Night Shift: 4×12-Hour (18:30 – 07:00)
Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated professional to join our medical unit. This position offers the option of 36 or 48 hours per week and involves direct patient care in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local travelers will not be accepted
- Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:6
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
- Must be willing to float to like units within scope
- No on-call requirement
- Block scheduling will be determined on a case-by-case basis
Certifications
- BLS certification is required
- CPI certification is preferred
Unit Details
- 32 beds in the unit
- Scrub color: Any (must not display hospital logos)
- Documentation system: EPIC
Responsibilities
As part of this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, which includes, but is not limited to, the following skills:
- Blood product administration
- Central line blood draw
- Chest tubes management
- Colostomy care and management
- CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) care
- Feeding tube care and management
- Medication administration, including Heparin and Insulin
- Non-invasive airway management
- Oral suctioning and oxygen administration
- Phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management
- PICC line management
- Pre/Post Hemodialysis management
- Renal failure management
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Wound care and management
Work Environment
This position primarily serves adult and geriatric patient populations. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team that includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services, among others. The unit aims to provide comprehensive care while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
