Job Opportunity

Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Night Shift

Shift Details:

• Type: Night 4×12-Hour Shift (18:30 – 07:00)
• Options: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Overtime: Any hours worked over 48 in a 48-hour contract will be considered overtime
• Required Time Off: One request per contract

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in Progressive/Acute Emergency Room settings
• Certifications:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Previous Charge Experience: Preferred
• Community Hospital Experience: Preferred
• Travel Experience: Required

Patient Care Responsibilities:

As an Emergency Room RN, your role will involve providing initial medical care for various conditions including:

• Respiratory issues
• Gastrointestinal (GI) problems
• Genitourinary (GU) conditions
• Cardiac issues
• Neurological emergencies
• Minor trauma
• OB/GYN cases
• Integumentary system issues
• Initial medical care for strokes, STEMIs, major trauma, and pediatrics prior to transfer

Unit Details & Special Procedures:

• Unit Type: Medical Surgical Community-based Emergency Department
• Number of Beds: 40
• Daily Patient Census: Approximately 90
• Special Procedures:
  • Chest Tubes
  • Thoracentesis
  • Paracentesis
  • Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI)
  • Splinting
  • Procedural Sedation
  • Restraints
  • Vacuum D&C
  • Central Line Insertion
  • Ultrasound-Guided IVs
• Special Equipment:
  • Rapid Infuser
  • EZ IO
  • Lifepack 15 and 20
  • GE Monitors
  • GE EKG
  • Glidescope

Staffing & Scheduling:

• Patient Ratios:
  • Days: 5 patients per nurse
  • Nights: 5 patients per nurse
  • Weekends: 5 patients per nurse
• Weekends: Every other weekend; a minimum of 3 shifts per 6-week schedule.
• Orientation Hours: 24

Additional Information:

• Support Services: Includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and more.
• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, infants, children, adults, and geriatrics.
• Floating: Healthcare professionals may be required to float to similar units as needed.
