Position: Sonographer
Shift:
9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Job Summary:
The Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic exams and procedures in the Ultrasound department, ensuring compliance with physician orders. This position requires effective collaboration with patients, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel.
Job Duties:
- Complete ultrasound studies efficiently and within established timelines; utilize downtime to assist colleagues.
- Verify exam charges and maintain the 5-day late list for the ultrasound department daily.
- Organize workload during peak times to expedite patient care and communicate relevant information to fellow technologists.
- Assist physicians with radiology procedures as necessary.
- Foster positive relationships within the department and address any concerns with supervisors, representing the department favorably to all staff.
- Manage inventory by maintaining supplies at appropriate levels and developing effective supply utilization methods.
- Handle equipment safely and appropriately, adhering to established guidelines and policies.
- Maintain a clean work area and comply with equipment cleaning protocols; ensure all machines are cleaned after each patient and at the end of the workday.
- Follow on-call policies, responding promptly to callbacks and arriving in the department within the required timeframe.
- Willingly assist with procedures in other areas of radiology as needed.
- Check in with co-workers during downtime to offer assistance.
- Adhere to attendance and punctuality policies.
- Comply with dress code and appearance policies.
- Participate in mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
- Adhere to safety and infection control policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Current Equipment:
- 3 Philips CVX Epiq machines
- 1 Philips Elite Epiq machine
- Vasculab ABI machine
Location:
Batesville, AR
Certifications Required:
- Registered Echo/Vascular Sonographer
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA
Guaranteed Hours:
40 hours per week
Contract Length:
91 days
