Job Description
We are seeking a qualified MS/Tele Float RN to provide quality patient care in various medical and surgical units. This position entails working in a dynamic environment with responsibilities across multiple floors.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care to diverse diagnoses, including septic conditions, COPD, CHF, postoperative care, and general medical surgical needs.
- Administer required drips and medications, including Heparin drips and various electrolyte replacements.
- Float between MS 4 Pav, MS 5 Pratt, and the acute inpatient rehabilitation unit focusing on orthopedic and neurological care.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of nursing principles and practices.
- Assess patients’ clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs to deliver comprehensive care.
- Recognize and address safety issues, utilizing appropriate lifting techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Effectively manage stress in high-pressure situations while exhibiting strong problem-solving skills.
- Exhibit excellent organizational and communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Possess strong leadership skills to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities as necessary.
- May assume duties as a charge nurse when required.
Qualifications
- Current New York nursing license required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Experience with Meditech software is necessary.
- Must have completed at least one successful travel nursing assignment; first-time travelers will not be considered.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is essential.
Working Conditions
This position requires a commitment to working 36 hours per week, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts. The schedule will be from 7 PM to 7 AM.
