Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The RN plays a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of patients through comprehensive nursing care. This position is focused on promoting health, preventing illness, and alleviating suffering by effectively managing patient diagnoses and treatments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a designated group of patients, serving as the primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignment.
  • Educate patients and their families on health promotion and disease management using available resources.
  • Administer medications safely and according to established hospital policies, leveraging knowledge of pharmacology.
  • Contribute to effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, and supply management.
  • Maintain compliance with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Engage in the Nursing Shared Governance Model by participating in unit councils and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Commit to professional development through continuing education and completion of mandatory training.
  • Integrate nursing research and evidence-based practices into daily operations.
  • Provide mentorship and support to new employees and nursing students.
  • Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties as assigned.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required.

Schedule Information

This is a night shift position, requiring 36 hours of work per week with a rotation that includes working every other weekend.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.

Education Requirements

Required Education

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited school of Nursing.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Certifications & Licensure

Required Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse License in New York State.
  • BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).

Preferred Certifications

  • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.

Work Environment

This position is located in City, State. The RN will work in a supportive and collaborative clinical environment, dedicated to providing high-quality patient care.
