Description: HWL Requisition:Oswego Health-AN-0121 SURG TECH8 weeksMonday through Friday 7am to 3:30pmOn call is 1 night a week and 1 weekend a month.Weeknight call is 3:30pm to 7a.Weekend call is Friday at 3:30pm to Monday at 7am. Education and Experience:Surgical Technologist Certification from a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists required; certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization or Licensed Practical Nurse licensed by NYS.BCLS Certification required.Prefer one year experience in hospital based OR or as certified scrub tech for all specialties.The Scrub LPN/Certified Surgical Technologist assists in providing nursing care and preparation of surgical patients of all ages appropriate for the surgery unit. Provides services under the general direction of the Director of Surgical Services or their designee, and in accordance with the objectives, policies, and procedures of the nursing department and established professional standards. Functions as a member of the sterile team. Effectively interacts with patients, healthcare members, while maintaining AORN (Association of Operating Room Nurses), AAMI ( Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation) and NBSTA (The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting ) standards of professional care delivery. Services include, but are not limited to: scrubbing for orthopedics, urology, general, OB GYN, ophthalmology, ENT, podiatry, and endoscopy.
