Description: HWL Requisition:Samaritan Medical Center-Allied-0465 Occupational Therapist8hr Days, 5 days a week with weekend and holiday rotationsDay shift13 week assignment Graduate from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy with a minimum of a Master?s Degree in OT. Current NYS OTR license or eligible. BLS required Minimum one year acute care experience preferred, experience on an acute rehab unit is ideal. Primary work location will be on the acute rehab unit but will be required to float to the regular acute care hospital units as needed. Experienced OT will possess a thorough knowledge of therapy principles, ability to provide quality patient care, ability to thoroughly assess patient’s needs and make adequate, timely and safe discharge plans for all patients.Must recognize safety issues to self and others and be able to assess and implement use of lifts to move patients in a safe manner. Must be able to coordinate patients? needs while working cohesively with other therapy professionals, nursing staff, medical staff and discharge coordinatorMust be able to demonstrate good, creative, problem-solving skills and be able to think outside the box for more complex therapy solutions.Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required.Positive and motivating attitude is a must.
