Complies with personnel policies and hospital safety policies. Maintains confidentiality when interacting with patients, families, personnel and the public. Performs duties as directed by the Director, Clinical Services. Reports any problems to the Charge Nurse and/or Director, Clinical Services in a timely manner. Communicate effectively and demonstrates ability to assess and interpret data about the patient s status in order to identify each patient s age specific needs and provide the care needed by pediatric, adolescent, young adult, middle-aged and geriatric patient groups. Ability to maintain hourly/bi-hourly rounding on assigned patients. Documents patient pain levels. Maintain real time charting and scanning medications. Identifies patient safety risks. Demonstrates knowledge of medical equipment alarms. Delivers nursing care according to standards of care defined by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Clinical Practice. Systematically evaluates quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Acquires and maintains current knowledge in nursing practice. Contributes to professional development of peers, colleagues and others. Decisions and actions on behalf of patients are determined in an ethical manner. Collaborates with patient, significant others, and health care providers in providing care. Demonstrates ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations. Supports and promotes Infection Control, Safety and Risk Management Programs.
