Description: The Cat Scan Technologist (CT Tech) will be responsible for performing Cat Scan diagnostic imaging and Cat Scan interventional procedures on adult and pediatric patients. Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):Prepare patients for scanningDetermine appropriate type and dose of contrast to be administeredProvide accurate explanations and instructionsPerform venipuncture, IV patency and maintenance procedures according to established guidelinesMonitor the patient s physical condition for any adverse reactions during the procedureUsing computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients internal organs and tissues.Appropriately positioning patients to scan specific areas of their bodies.Performing regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the X-ray tubes.Sterilizing radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients.Correctly interpreting doctors’ written scanning instructions.Administering radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues.Evaluating CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality.Explaining scanning procedures to patients and providing reassurance and support as required.Perform any and all other duties as assigned Mountainside Medical Center is one of a select group of facilities statewide equipped Siemens CT Scanner with a state-of-art, 128-slice, dual-source CT scanner. Mountainside Medical Center high-speed top-resolution Somatom CT scanner produces vivid, stunning images that are valuable tools for acute care, cardiology, oncology, neurology and other areas of medicine. The Mountainside Medical Center radiology team is among a select group nationwide that includes two physicians with the highest, Level III certifications in cardiac CT angiography from the American College of Cardiology. Schedule Notes:NIGHTS; 11P-7ASkills: All candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in CT Tech, perferably in an acute carehospital setting. Required experience with performing venipuncture, IV patency and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines. Candidate must exhibit:Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.Ability to stand for extended periods.Strong technical skills.Excellent problem-solving skills.Effective communication skills- ability to communicate effectively with patients and family, as well as with all members of the healthcare team.
