Description: *Experienced CT tech who is able to also navigate x-ray independently required*The Cat Scan Technologist will be responsible for performing Cat Scan diagnostic imaging and Cat Scan interventional procedures on adult and pediatric patients. The successful candidate will be able to: Prepare patients for scanning Determine appropriate type and dose of contrast to be administered Provide accurate explanations and instructions Perform venipuncture, IV patency and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines Monitor the patient s physical condition for any adverse reactions during the procedure Perform any and all other duties as assignedPosition imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specificaiton of examinationPosition patient on examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body are as requested by physicianMonitor patient on examing table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum vie of specific body area as requested by physicianMonitor patients’ conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physician. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scanUse radiation safety measures and protection devised to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staffReview and evaluate developed x-rays, video tape, or compter-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposesDetermine patients’ x-ray needs by reading requests or instructions from physiciansPrepare contrast material, radiopharmaceutials, or anesthetic or antispasmodic drugs under the direction of a radiologistProcess exposed radiographs using film processors or computer-generated methodsOperate modile x-ray equipment in operating room, emergency room, or a patient’s bedsideMake exposures necessary for the requested procedures, rejecting and repeating work that does not meet established standardsOperate or oversee operation of radiologic or magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposesOperate digital picture archiving communications systemsPerform procedures, sucah as linear tomography, joint and cyst aspirations, routine contrast studies, routine flouroscopy, or examinations of the head, trunk or extremities under supervision of the physician. Provide assistance to physicians or other technologists in the performance of more complex proceduresRecord, process, and maintain patient data or treatment records and prepare reportsTake thorough and accruate patient medical histories. Key commands and data into computer to document and specify scan sequences, adjust transmitters and receivers, or photograph certain imagesOperate fluoroscope to aid physician to view and guide wire or catheter through blood vessels to area of interestSet up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is readyTransport patients to or from exam roomsAssist with on-the-job training of new emploeyes or studnets or provide input ot supervisors regarding training performanceMaintain a current file of examination protocolsPerform general administrative tasks, such as answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, or pulling and filing filmsComplete quality control activities, monitor equipment operation, and report malfuncitons equipment to supervisor” Schedule Notes:7P-730A 12 hour shiftSkills: A minimum of 3 years experience in CT scan. Associate s degree of Radiology preferred. Active and current State License Radiologic Technologist. Maintains CEU Credits American Registry of Radiology Technologist (A.R.R.T.).
