Description: The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.The successful candidate will be able to:Coordinate all nursing care for patients preparing to undergo and recovering from an invasive procedure or surgeryCollaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes while maintaining a family centered experience Contribute to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient careCollect patient’s health data – Complete vital signs, medication reconciliation, allergy review, inquire of past medical and family history, and document this information in the electronic medical record (EPIC).Analyze assessment data in determining patient problems Develop a comprehensive plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomesand iImplement interventions identified in the plan of care Participate in the completion of provider orders by accurately performing venipuncture and EKGs, appropriately applying ambulatory cardiac monitoring, correctly selecting and documenting medication samples, and patient education as directed by nurse or provider.Evaluate patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes and preparation for discharge Assist with the plan of care, evaluate, modify and coordinate care, and communicate well with other disciplinesComplete refill authorization requests dailyMaintain and stock exams rooms with suppliesCleand and disinfect patient roomsDelegate tasks to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Board of NursingMaintain confidentiality with all informationPerform any and all other duties as assigned Schedule Notes:0700-1530 M-F WITH CALL. Circulating experience in all surgical specialties required. Scrub experience highly preferred.EHR documentation experience required.Excellent interpersonal, communication, team-work, and customer service skills.
