ID: 41780969 Shift: 5×8 Hr 7AM – 3:00PM, with periodic 11:00AM-6:00 PM Description: The Registered Nurse-Operating Room provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.The successful candidate will be able to: Coordinate all nursing care for patients preparing to undergo and recovering from an invasive procedure or surgery Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes while maintaining a family centered experience Contribute to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care Collect patient s health data Analyze assessment data in determining patient problems Develop a comprehensive plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes Implement interventions identified in the plan of care Evaluate patient s progress toward attainment of outcomes and preparation for discharge Assist with the plan of care, evaluate, modify and coordinate care, and communicate well with other disciplines Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Board of Nursing Maintain confidentiality with all information Perform any and all other duties as assigned Schedule Notes:6:30AM – 3PMRotating Weekends with call requirementsSkills: 2 years minimum as OR experience. Demonstrates familiarity with the shared governance model, the philosophy of nursing, and performance improvement. Functions as a Registered Professional Nurse using the patient-focused care model by consistently delivering safe and appropriate care to a specific patient population utilizing the nursing process. Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status. Plans individualized patient care based on assessment and implements well-defined interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Evaluates patient s response to interventions and make appropriate changes to achieve desired outcomes in progressing patients to a predefined length of stay. Accurately documents the components of the nursing process per Hackensack UMC at Pascack Valley policy. Demonstrates respectful and effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues. Develops an emerging awareness of ethical issues and how they relate to clinical practice. Demonstrates applied knowledge base in areas of policies, procedures, standards of care, and medications by utilizing Hackensack UMC@ Pascack Valley resources to deliver proper patient care and achieve desired outcomes. Discusses care as it relates to evidence-based practice. Recognizes patient satisfaction issues and adjusts patient care delivery accordingly when appropriate. Educates patients and families on disease self-management when appropriate, preparing the patient and family for discharge from the hospital. Documents education appropriately. Brings innovative ideas forward as a mechanism to improve patient care, and efficiency or enhance the work environment. Actively participates on committees of the hospital either as requested or assigned by the nursing leadership as a mechanism for ongoing development. Required ACLS COLLECTION DATA COLLECTION GOVERNANCE PATIENT CARE Additional REGISTERED NURSE RN Education: Current licensure as an RN American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS, PALS TNCC and CNOR preferred Certification in specialty preferred Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing Previous Travel
